Feb. 18, 2021 — Parents interested in learning childcare strategies can register for multiple Mindful Parenting webinars through March. Anyone who lives or works in Hampton is eligible.

The sessions, provided through the city's Healthy Families Department, will be Thursdays at 6 p.m. on March 4, 11, 18 and 25, and each session will cover a different parenting topic related to mindfulness. Parents can register for one or more sessions. The lessons are applicable for children of all ages.

The classes will help parents:

  • Learn how to respond rather than react.
  • Find peace amid stress.
  • Develop self-compassion.
  • Learn how to help children self-regulate.
  • Remain present in a device-driven world.

The webinars will be administered by instructors from Alternatives Inc., a nonprofit youth development organization. Once registered, participants will participate through an online Zoom session at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83513736892.
