Because most of the community center staff is still working at the vaccine clinics at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, it will take those facilities longer to open. City Manager Mary Bunting noted that that clinic has vaccinated more than 30,000 people, and that would not have happened without the Parks & Rec staff help. Community centers and the Senior Center will reopen May 3. Outdoor volleyball and basketball also will return for play (at your own risk) May 3 as well.

Hours and activity will be modified to ensure Covid-19 practices can be followed. Full details will be released closer to that date.
