[ARCHIVED] Otis Brooks - Wednesday, September 21, 6-8 pm

Otis Brooks

Enjoy an evening of original music with Hampton's Otis Brooks!

With an early affection for hip hop, Otis began writing rhymes for schoolmates which sparked his passion for songwriting. This eventually evolved into learning the guitar and writing original music with many influences like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis and Steely Dan. Although Rock, Funk, R&B, Jazz and Blues are all staples of his sound they are hardly the limits of it.

A songwriter, guitarist and performer, Otis uses his unique voice and blend of artistry to create pieces all his own. He aims to set an infectious mood with every song. His approach as a guitarist is to simply feel every note, project that same feeling into the audience, creating something uniquely beautiful together.

For this performance, Otis is accompanied by Jason Brown on keyboards, David Lee on bass, and Shannon Uzzle on drums.

Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Proceeds support the Hampton History Museum.

Admission is free for museum members, $5 for non-members. Not yet a member? Join today and save!
