[ARCHIVED] Hampton's Threat Tec on list of fastest growing private US companies


Aug. 17, 2022 - Hampton-based ThreatTec made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies. With 216% growth since last year, the company was at about the midpoint on the list at 2,639. 

The veteran-owned small business provides operational environment replication, threat emulation and war gaming solutions though expertise and virtual, simulated and live training. It is owned by Jim Crawford and has grown to 225 employees. Although the headquarters of the business are in Hampton, employees are spread throughout the country, and, now the world.

“We are very pleased to have Threat Tec headquartered in Hampton, and congratulate them on this tremendous news!" said Chuck Rigney, the city's economic development director. "As always, we look forward to working with Jim Crawford and his team as they grow and expand in our city.”

The company's largest contract is with SOCOM, the United States Special Operations Command, the unified combatant command charged with overseeing the various special operations component commands of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force of the United States Armed Forces.
