Hampton Horror Tours - A Frightfully Fun Way to Raise Funds for the Museum!

Reserve Your Tickets For These Fundraising Tours Now!
Tuesday, October 25-Sunday, October 30
Two tours a night, leaving the museum at 6:30 pm & 8:00 pm

With no sightings in over two years, figures from the city’s storied past are once again going to roam the streets in the Hampton History Museum’s popular “Hampton Horror Tours.” Departing the museum’s lobby twice nightly at 6:30 and 8 pm, Tuesday, October 25 thought Sunday, October 30, these 60-minute walking tours include eerie tales of old Hampton and the Coastal Virginia region.

Even if you’ve been a regular on our Horror Tours in the past, you won’t want to miss their reincarnation! There are new stories, new personages to meet from the mists of time, and plenty of surprises in store!

Walk on the Wild Side
Those who dare brave the journey will meet the first witch recorded in America, dastardly pirates, yellow fever victims, WWII German submariners who perished in the Chesapeake Bay and were buried in Hampton, drowning victim Jenny Kane whose husband was acquitted of her death in the 1931 “Trial of the Century”, formerly enslaved “Contraband” William Roscoe Davis, prohibition-era Phoebus bootlegger George Andrews, a wandering "nzambi", and others. Each tour will include the grisly side of Hampton history, a spooky lantern tour of the St. John’s graveyard, and other chilling downtown Hampton sites.

Reanimated with a New Script, New Director
New to our Horror Tours for 2022, script writer and director Robert Weathers has worked as a character interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg since 2008, and since 2019 has portrayed George Wythe in the CW Nation Builder Unit. He has been acting and directing professionally since 2002. He has created and entirely new script enlivening Hampton’s tales of mystery and the macabre, and has added engaging characters and stories based on historical research to the new script.
