Sept. 1, 2022 — The Crabtown Seafood Festival returns to the Downtown Hampton waterfront on Saturday, offering not only food and drinks, but lots of educational exhibits about the Chesapeake Bay’s role in Hampton.

The festival has been canceled by the pandemic the past two years but returns with an outstanding lineup of events and performers.

The free festival, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. will be set up at Mill Point Park and along the downtown docks. The vendors will be offering dishes that reflect the history of the seafood industry in Hampton, and the exhibits and activities are all designed to honor Hampton’s history as a city on the water. The festival will have something for adults, kids and even four-legged family members.

For the first time, the festival will offer tours of authentic work boats in the water. Displays and exhibits will show the skills and industry trades that are a part of Hampton’s history on the water, and merchandise vendors will be selling nautical-themed jewelry and art, home décor, seasonal candles and more.

Entertainment on the Mill Point Park stage will include performances by the Ricky Micou Steel Drum band at 11 a.m.; Doyle and Dunn at 12:45 p.m.; Brasswind at 2:30 p.m.; and Attraction at 4:30 p.m. Local performer K'bana Blaq will serve as the host.
