[ARCHIVED] Relief funds available for homeowners affected by pandemic

vmrp

January 10, 2023 - Homeowners who have been financially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic may be eligible for up to $50,000 in federal relief funds under new guidelines announced today by the Virginia Mortgage Relief Program.

To be eligible, homeowners must have Virginia as their primary residence and must be able to show financial hardship related to the pandemic after Jan. 21, 2020, even if the hardship began before that date. The homeowner must be seeking assistance with mortgage payments or other eligible housing-related costs.

The funding will come from $250 million in Covid-19 relief that the state received from the U.S. Treasury to support homeowners who are experiencing housing instability due to the pandemic.

For more information, or to check your eligibility for relief funding, click here or call (833) 687-8677 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. weekdays.
