[ARCHIVED] City Council recognizes Municipal Clerks Week April 30-May 6

May 1, 2023 — The Hampton City Council declared April 30-May 6, 2023, to be Municipal Clerks Week, in appreciation for the outstanding service provided by the city's clerks. The proclamation was signed by Mayor Donnie Tuck and presented at the City Council meeting on April 26. 

The proclamation references the multitude of services municipal clerks provide to the Hampton community, such as "recording and preserving records, providing information and services to citizens, and codifying legislative activities of the governing body." 

The document states in part,  "Hampton Municipal Clerk Katherine Glass and her staff provide outstanding service to our community and local government on a daily basis, constantly striving to protect resources, provide transparency in all aspects of local government, and to preserve our heritage while planning for our future."

The proclamation further calls upon Hampton residents show their appreciation for the hard work the city's clerks provide.
