[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Air Power Park's indoor museum reopens

air power park

July 31, 2023 — The museum building at Air Power Park has reopened after a two-day closure that was caused by maintenance issues.

A malfunction in the air-conditioning system left the temperatures inside the building excessively hot, forcing a closure on Friday and Saturday. The museum is now open for its regular hours.

The outdoor portion of Air Power Park remains closed to the public for ongoing work on the grounds.

Air Power Park, located at 413 W. Mercury Blvd., is a free, 15-acre park featuring several vintage aircraft and experimental space launch vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s, including jets, missiles and rockets. The indoor museum at the center of the park includes themed rooms with more than 325 models of aircraft, spacecraft and nautical vessels representing all the U.S. branches of service and some other nations.
