[ARCHIVED] Recommended 2015 budget available for review

April 16, 2014 – The city manager’s recommended budget for fiscal year 2015 - which begins July 1 - is now available for review online, in city libraries and at City Hall.

The $452,819,700 budget, which must still be reviewed and approved by City Council, is a 0.94% increase over the FY 2014 spending plan. The budget includes: school operations, $195.7 million; city department operations, $177 million; debt and capital for city and schools, regional agency funding, and transfers to other funds: $80 million.

City Council will begin budget deliberations on April 23 during a public hearing at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 22 Lincoln St. There will be another public hearing and first reading at a special Council meeting on May 7 at 7 p.m. at City Hall. And Council will meet for public comments at 6 p.m. on May 14 at City Hall. There will be a second reading and final vote on the budget at 7 p.m. on May 14 at City Hall.
