  1. The Storyweavers

    February 19, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Hampton History Museum

Join us for the return of The Storyweavers to the Great Hall stage! This talented group, whose beautifully crafted songs connect to the audience, debuted their CD "Fallen Sparrow" at the museum in August 2018. They are currently working their latest album. Band members Sheela Fortner, Linda Gale Poole, Beth Whyle and Jennifer McLaughlin blend Americana, folk, blues and funk into an original soulful sound with music inspired by their life stories. American Sign Language performance artist Jennifer McLaughlin ensures that the message of The Storyweavers can be enjoyed by all, and ASL interpreter Annie James assists in moving between the two languages. Admission is free for museum members, $5 for non-members. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. The Hampton History Museum is located at 120 Old Hampton Lane in Downtown Hampton. There is free parking in the garage across the street from the museum. For more information call 757-727-1102.

  2. Parks Master Plan meeting

February 20, 2020, 6:30 PM @ Hampton Roads Convention Center

Help create great places in Hampton by attending the Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department meeting to update the public on proposed changes to Parks’ master plan. The master plan is used as a guide for making decisions about renovation, redevelopment and future development of Hampton’s park infrastructure and recreational facilities. It was adopted in 1997 and last updated in 2001. In 2019, the city hired GreenPlay LLC to help update the current plan, which can be found online. The entire process is expected to last a year. Proposed changes to the plan are expected to be brought before City Council later this year.
