  1. Arboretum Tours at Bluebird Gap Farm

    December 14, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM @ Bluebird Gap Farm

    These tours are for both new and long-time residents in Hampton Roads area that might not be sure of what to plant or add to their landscape. Virginia Cooperative Extension will be providing themed tours of the plants at Bluebird Gap Farm arboretum. Each tour will be held on the second Saturday of the month starting in September. Some of the themes will be fall color in the garden, evergreens for winter, etc. To register, contact Virginia Cooperative Extension - Hampton office at 757-727-1401 or email Gaylynn Johnson at gaylynnj@vt.edu .

  1. Hampton One: Working, Building and Racing on the Water exhibit

    This dynamic photo and artifact-rich experience explores Hampton's integral ties to, and love of, the water that surrounds the city, its seafood and maritime heritage, and passion for sailing as embodied in the locally developed Hampton One sailboat, and the competitive sailing culture that grew out of it.

  2. Winter Whimsy at the Hampton Carousel

    November 12, 2019, 11:00 AM - December 29, 2019, 8:00 PM @ Hampton Carousel in Carousel Park

    Make new holiday memories while enjoying festively adorned horses and the historic Hampton Carousel decked out for the season, along with special carousel organ-type Christmas music. Enjoy a free candy cane while enjoying a wintry spin back in time on this 1920s artistic marvel. Get your carousel fix before we close for the winter! The carousel will open for the season on April 1. Free admission. Rides $1. Hours 11 am to 8 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Operated by the Hampton History Museum, the Hampton Carousel is located in Carousel Park, 602 Settlers Landing Road in Downtown Hampton. There is free garage and on-street parking.   3. Santa's Attic Arts and Crafts Fair

    Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services presents the annual Santa’s Attic Arts and Crafts Show every December. Shop one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted items made by local artisans. Grab and go lunch will be available for purchase as well as holiday treats. Admission is free.

  4. Holly Days Open House

    December 14, 2019, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Hampton History Museum

    Enjoy heirloom ornament making, live holiday music, train displays, face painting and more family fun to get you in the spirit of the season. Christmas music from New Sound Alliance from 10 am to noon, Libertylive.church from 12-2:30 pm, and acoustic arrangements of seasonal favorites by Louis Vangieri, 2:30-4 pm. Have your face painted for free from "A Mile of Smiles" from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Tour the galleries and our special “Hampton One” exhibit. Be sure to check out the gift shop for unique jewelry, housewares, accessories and holiday decor, not to mention the best selection of books on Hampton’s history!

  5. Selfies with Santa at the Hampton Carousel

    As part of Hampton Holly Days weekend, the Hampton Carousel welcomes youngsters of all ages to share holiday wishes and snap “Selfies with Santa.” Mrs Claus will be there with free candy canes. As a special gift, take a free spin on the festively decorated 1920s carousel. Have your face painted in a holiday motif for free from 1-4 pm. Afterwards, get set for the Hampton Holly Days Parade at 6 pm on Settlers Landing Road!

This year we celebrate "Holly Days Around the World" in preparation for the 20th anniversary of the International Children's Festival in 2020. Check out appearances from your favorite dance groups, high school bands, military groups, car clubs, local organizations and the highly anticipated arrival of Santa Claus! The best view is along Settlers Landing Road, from the Crowne Plaza heading beyond the Virginia Air and Space Museum.

  8. Country Christmas Spectacular

    December 18, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Hampton History Museum

    Take part in our Holiday Ho-ho-hoedown! Celebrate in hip Hee-Haw style with some of the region’s most innovative Americana musicians: swamp blues duo Roebuck; honky-tonk angel Gina Dalmas of the Heartstompers; classic country singer/songwriter Jack Green; sultry songstress Katie Teardrop; and of course the mastermind and ringmaster of this cavalcade or Christmas cheer, the “grunge-grass” irrepressible force of nature that is Tornado Bait. Plus, there will be a special Hoop Performance by Wicked Rose Bunny Performing Arts. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Proceeds support the museum. Admission is free for members, $5 for non-members.
