Hampton Carousel

Take a Spin Back in Time! Located in Carousel Park and operated by the Hampton History Museum, the former Buckroe Beach carousel is one of the City of Hampton’s most treasured historic assets. Built in 1920, the carousel is completely restored to its original beauty and housed in its own weather-protected pavilion at Carousel Park on the city’s downtown waterfront. It is one of only 170 antique wooden merry-go-rounds still existing in the U.S. Hand crafted by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company for the Buckroe Beach Amusement Park, Hampton's Carousel is a whirling tribute to the skill of its creators. The Hampton Carousel will operate under federal, state and City of Hampton COVID-19 protocols. Guests will be required to wear masks when inside the carousel building, practice social distancing, and use hand-sanitizer before and after rides.

24/7 Nurturing Dads

TACKLING OUR TOUGHEST TASKS TO BECOME THE NURTURING DADS WE ARE CALLED ON TO BE. A 12-week parenting program for Dads to increase knowledge and practice key skills to help their children grow up to be smart, strong, self-reliant and caring.

1-2-3 Magic - Effective Discipline for Children age 2-12

This 6-sessions course addresses the difficult task of child discipline with honor, keen insight and proven experience. This time-tested program provides easy-to-follow steps for discipline children 2-12 without yelling, arguing, or spanking. You'll also learn when-and how your silence can speak louder than you think.

Come by the library and learn about Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia and how they can help with civil matters such as landlord/tenant and family law. Prospective clients will be screened for eligibility. The Hampton Public Library and its staff CANNOT give legal assistance or advice.
