Mayflower Marathon Food Drive

106.9 The Fox and FM99 proudly present the 25th Mayflower Marathon Holiday Food Drive, presented by Bud’s Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning and Electric, and hosted by Kroger in partnership with Coliseum Central to bring joy, happiness and nourishment to families across the greater Peninsula who are experiencing food insecurity. For many, a daily meal is a simple choice of what to eat. For people facing hunger, a daily meal poses a very different type of choice. It's often an impossible decision between food and other crucial needs, such as electricity, childcare, or medicine. Nobody should be forced to make a choice to go hungry. With the community’s support, we can come together to help people achieve long-term food security, so they no longer have to make such tough decisions.

Holidays in the Sky Laser Light Show

We’re lighting up the night sky with our 30 minute, holiday-themed laser light show! Experience holiday magic from the comfort of your car at the Hampton Coliseum parking lot on November 19, 20, and 21. These seven showings are free and open to the public. Space is limited and registration is required.

Put the Guns Down, Pick the Mic Up

Put the Guns Down, Pic the Mic Up is a youth talent showcase aiming to increase awareness of the impacts of gun violence in our community and motivate residents to respond to the 2021 Youth Gang Violence Survey Assessment. This event is sponsored by by "Give back to Da Block," the Office of Youth Opportunities, Hampton Parks & Recreation, and the Citizens' Unity Commission.

Hampton Carousel

Take a Spin Back in Time! Located in Carousel Park and operated by the Hampton History Museum, the former Buckroe Beach carousel is one of the City of Hampton’s most treasured historic assets. Built in 1920, the carousel is completely restored to its original beauty and housed in its own weather-protected pavilion at Carousel Park on the city’s downtown waterfront. It is one of only 170 antique wooden merry-go-rounds still existing in the U.S. Hand crafted by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company for the Buckroe Beach Amusement Park, Hampton's Carousel is a whirling tribute to the skill of its creators. The Hampton Carousel will operate under federal, state and City of Hampton COVID-19 protocols. Guests will be required to wear masks when inside the carousel building, practice social distancing, and use hand-sanitizer before and after rides.

Kids First - Court mandated 4-hour class - Saturday

This 4 hour workshop provides information that can help parents understand what their children experience when their lives are reorganized by divorce, separation and family conflict. It will guide parents in making informed decisions about parenting plans as they transform thier relationship from couple to co-parents. (Satisfies Virginia Legislative requirements for child custody and visitation disputes)

Mothering & Breastfeeding Support Group

Hampton Healthy Families & Sacred Village Doula Services aim to provide the community with support around breastfeeding and transitioning into motherhood. A chance to explore this new transition through empowerment, encouragement and authentic relationships
