Barktoberfest

Peninsula SPCA's 17th Annual Barktoberfest Festival is a fun time for all, located on the beautiful waterfront of Downtown Hampton. Enjoy live music, local craft beer, delicious food trucks, over 50 local vendors and artisans, and dog-friendly contests and activities. You can also try your luck with our raffle prizes! Our popular costume contests are for pups and people with CASH PRIZES! As always, all of the proceeds help the homeless animals and community programs at the Peninsula SPCA.

Five Alarm Festival

This family-friendly festival features firefighting equipment, fire safety information, and for the children, a bounce house, an obstacle course, face painting, a balloon artist and more. The festival and refreshments are free! Don't forget to meet Pyper, Hampton’s accelerant-detecting dog!

FMCC Pool OPEN

Teetotalers and Moonshiners, and Hampton’s Prohibition Story

The exhibit combines content from the Virginia Library’s 2017 exhibit “Teetotalers and Moonshiners: Virginia’s Prohibition Experiment” with research and artifacts from the Hampton History Museum on the local experience. "Hampton's Prohibition Story" features myriad items to tell the story, including dozens of photographs; numerous bottles, jugs and other containers; games, smoking accoutrements, beverage dispenser, signs and materials of saloon culture; service ware, promotional items and memorabilia from Point Comfort resorts, Phoebus police and fire department items, doctor bag and instruments; and moonshine still components on loan from the Museum of the Albemarle. The exhibit continues through February 4, 2024.

Banned Book Week @ Northampton Public Library

We will be highlighting books that have been banned or challenged. Visit our teen area to find our display where you guess why the book was banned. All entries are eligible for a random raffle prize and correct answers (along with most fun answers) will be posted at the end. Halloweentown: A Life-Size Boardgame @ Northampton Branch Library
