    Country for Kids presented by Old Point National Bank is the annual charity concert to benefit the Center for Child & Family Services, a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 1943. The Center's mission is to deliver quality counseling programs and support services that empower individuals and families to improve their lives. We empower people to face life's challenges. We provide services such as mental health counseling from children to adults, youth and young adult substance abuse counseling, youth and adult anger management, domestic violence counseling, job readiness counseling and support services, Hispanic outreach services, credit, budget and debt counseling and financial education are just a few of of the Center's 20+ programs that serve over 3,000 each year. Join us at Country for Kids 2023 for an awesome night of country music all to support the programs and services of the Center for Child & Family Services.

  1. Teetotalers and Moonshiners, and Hampton’s Prohibition Story

    The exhibit combines content from the Virginia Library’s 2017 exhibit “Teetotalers and Moonshiners: Virginia’s Prohibition Experiment” with research and artifacts from the Hampton History Museum on the local experience. "Hampton's Prohibition Story" features myriad items to tell the story, including dozens of photographs; numerous bottles, jugs and other containers; games, smoking accoutrements, beverage dispenser, signs and materials of saloon culture; service ware, promotional items and memorabilia from Point Comfort resorts, Phoebus police and fire department items, doctor bag and instruments; and moonshine still components on loan from the Museum of the Albemarle. The exhibit continues through February 4, 2024.

    Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services is teaming up with Special Olympics Virginia to host track & field meets for individuals ages 8-22 with disabilities for the track & field season. Participation includes individual and team play, competing in local, regional, and state games.
