H2O Aerobics

Water aerobics is the performance of aerobic exercise in water such as in a swimming pool. It is done mostly vertically and without swimming typically in waist deep or deeper water. Water aerobics is a form of aerobic exercise that requires water-immersed participants.

Ceramics at the Fort

CERAMICS AT THE FORT- Will you join us for Ceramics at the Fort? Come sit in and create your masterpiece during any of our open studio times. Open studio ceramics is available for kids and adults, Tuesdays through Fridays and by appointments on Saturdays. All project materials are included with purchase of your bisque. The materials include paint, firing/glaze, and stains.

After the Clock Strikes 2

After the Clock Strikes 2 offers a safe and structured environment, providing quality educational support and recreational experiences that promote physical, intellectual, and emotional development. Participants receive homework assistance, participate in fitness activities, and explore arts and culture through fun programs.

Recreation Matters: Open Recreation Program

Youth and teens have the opportunity to participate in various recreational activities while socializing with friends.

Open Gym Adult

Adults have the opportunity to get physically active while playing basketball in a friendly atmosphere.

Open Rec (Youth)

Athletic activities such as basketball, futsal, indoor flag football, dodgeball, volleyball, karaoke and more. Participants have the opportunity to experience enriching arts and craft activities along with computer gaming.

Chair Exercise

Chair exercise is designed to improve strength, flexibility and balance, most of the exercises can be done while sitting in or holding onto a chair to help with balance. Many of the exercises incorporate a ball to add fun and interest, as well as to help improve coordination.

Pinochle

Pinochle, also called pinocle or penuchle, is a trick-taking, Ace-Ten card game typically for two to four players and played with a 48-card deck. It is derived from the card game bezique; players score points by trick-taking and also by forming combinations of cards into melds.

Teetotalers and Moonshiners, and Hampton’s Prohibition Story

The exhibit combines content from the Virginia Library’s 2017 exhibit “Teetotalers and Moonshiners: Virginia’s Prohibition Experiment” with research and artifacts from the Hampton History Museum on the local experience. "Hampton's Prohibition Story" features myriad items to tell the story, including dozens of photographs; numerous bottles, jugs and other containers; games, smoking accoutrements, beverage dispenser, signs and materials of saloon culture; service ware, promotional items and memorabilia from Point Comfort resorts, Phoebus police and fire department items, doctor bag and instruments; and moonshine still components on loan from the Museum of the Albemarle. The exhibit continues through February 4, 2024.
